Help and Technical Requirements

Here are some technical tips to make your NewsU experience more enjoyable.

Most of our e-learning modules require the Flash plug-in, which you can download from Macromedia. Click here to get the player.

For the best experience, we suggest that:

  • PC users use Internet Explorer or Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox
  • Mac users use Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox or Safari
  • You set your monitor resolution to 800 x 600, but 1024 x 768 or higher is better
  • You use a high-speed connection
  • You turn on your sound card

Check individual courses for more specific technical requirements.

What happens if I get an "access denied" message?

This is the most common error message. It really means that your session has expired [see below about session cookies].  Try quitting your browser and restarting it. Then log back into NewsU.
